23e95b-20140224-022414parking01

A snow emergency is being declared for Friday, January 19th from 9:00AM through 9:00PM. Vehicles parked on posted snow emergency routes MUST BE MOVED or they will be ticketed. All portable basketball nets, cones, etc. must be removed from street.  Shoveling or blowing snow onto the street is prohibited. Parking is available at the pool parking lot for up to 24 hours after snow emergency is over.

The snow emergency routes include the following streets:

  • Main Street - the entire length with parking prohibited on the South side.
  • Chestnut Street - the entire length with parking prohibited on both North and South sides of the street.
  • East Washington Street - between Broad Street and Church Street with parking prohibited on the South side.
  • West Washington Street - between 143 Washington and 44 Washington Street with parking prohibited on the South and East side.

Residents who park along the snow emergency routes can move their vehicles to the Adamstown Community Pool parking lot. Once the snow emergency ends, residents utilizing the pool parking lot will have 24 hours to remove their vehicles.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Road crews are trying to "remove" snow from the roadway. Residents should not be shoveling or blowing snow back onto the street which creates a hazard on the already cleared roadway. It is illegal to throw snow onto a borough or state roadway.

Park off the road and in your driveway or in one of our township owned parks. If your driveway is steep or you have multiple vehicles, please park at the mouth of your driveway and off the road.  Do not park your vehicle in a cul-de-sac.

Wait to shovel snow from the last five feet of your driveway. If you clear your driveway before the road is cleared, the plows will just push the snow back onto your driveway. Avoid throwing snow on neighboring  properties.

Items such as portable basketball nets, cones, etc. need to be removed from the street to aid in the snow removal effort.

For everyone's safety please consider clearing snow from any fire hydrants on or near your property.
